    • URI Selection Working Group - Julie

      • Discussed getting vocab manager started. Heather can get a domain within http://samvera.org for this. Discussed on tech call ways to get started. Contemplating using a github repo within Samvera, for predicates needed within Hyrax codebase. Going to try it out in personal accounts as a demo. Try out different ways of handling.

  • Roadmaps Alignment Group Update - Julie

    • Had a meeting today, 8/24. Discussed the presentation the group gave to partners in July. Looking at ways to get code contributions geared up and contributed back to Samvera github repositories. Nabeela did some analysis of features institutions have implemented locally. A lot of places have implemented DOI minting. This might be a place to start for contributing back to Hyrax core code. Also discussed plan for cross-coordination across Samvera technologies. What is coming up for Hyku, Avalon, etc. and how to coordinate. Will be asking partners and others in the community to pledge developer time through a drive.

  • Issues/Questions

    • Storing multiple vocabularies within the same field (ex. genre). Currently using LCSH and AAT. Are others doing this and if so how are you differentiating?

      • Using the QA gem could help, if storing URI, could differentiate based on URI. How does default QA handle this?

  • Discussion Topics

    • Hyrax v3.0 Metadata Application Profile is now available on Samvera Knowledge Base

      • Perhaps as an easy to add on option, some places might not have data ready for that be enforced

      • Would we need to have EDTF validation? Encouraged or enforced?

      • University of North Texas, example of institution doing EDTF validation. Avalon does as well.

      • How are invalid values handled in humanize gem?

      • Annamarie will draft a second issue for having a date facet in default Hyrax, potentially with a slider such as Duke’s:

    • Developer Congress, held July 12-16

      • Julie - this one geared toward folks getting started, wanting to get Hyrax running locally. Successfully got Hyrax running locally using Docker for participants.
