Samvera Marketing WG agenda, January 27th 2021

  • Notes from previous call (see January 13th) and matters arising

    • Outreach logic model

      • No further progress at this stage, to be re-visited at a later meeting. Feedback still welcome to Heather, who is gathering notes from different groups to take on board.

      • Suggestion to showcase/launch approach through a Virtual Connect presentation in April.

    • StoryMap mock-up

      • Charlotte looking at the use of a student worker to progress this work.

      • There have now been 17 responses to the questionnaire.

    • Use cases / profiles

      • Chris is following up with the people who had replied to the questionnaire this week.

      • Carolyn is writing a use case from Northwestern for the Samvera annual report, which could be re-purposed for general use.

    • Open Repositories 2021

      • The deadline had been extended to February 8th. Chris is continuing to draft a proposal for review.

    • Metadata audience reach-out

      • Heather had raised this with the Metadata SIG. The SIG had expressed interest, and would welcome a proposal from Marketing to help frame a discussion.

  • Marketing materials in the Samvera repository?

    • The question was raised about whether the current marketing materials are in the Samvera repository. The logic model could also be housed here.

    • A blog piece highlighting the repository and what it contains and how it could be used would be a good way of raising awareness. Nabeela will consider options and bring ideas back to the Group.

  • Code4Lib marketing

    • Steering is looking to promote the Community more. As such, using Code4Lib for this could be helpful. The available sponsorship options will be circulated for discussion on the next call.

  • New Hyrax hex stickers

    • The new hex sticker created by Chris Colvard was reviewed (and liked!). Chris will look to get a bunch sent to Jeremy F. so that we have all stickers together in one place (as Jeremy currently holds what we have from Code4Lib 2020).

  • Feedback from Samvera Steering retreat re: strategy to inform marketing

    • See above re: Code4Lib.
