Samvera Wiki Migration December 15th 2020

The Samvera wiki space is migrating from a single space on the LYRASIS Confluence wiki to a full standalone hosted Confluence wiki site.Ā The Samvera wiki space will be made read-only beginning at 9:00am ET on Tuesday, December 15th. The migration is expected to be completed and edit access made available on the new site by Friday, December 18th.

What to expect:Ā
The migration requires setting the current wiki to read-only access and then migrating the current space to the new Confluence site. All wiki users who have edited in the space before will have account information transferred to the new wiki site,Ā and all edit history will be retained. Once the migration is complete, all wiki users who have edited in the space before will be invited via email to set a password on the new site.

How to prepare:

  1. If you currently edit the Samvera wiki, check that your email address isĀ up-to-date in your user account profile. When the migration is complete you will receiveĀ an invitation to the new wiki at that email address.
  2. If your Interest Group or Working Group meets between December 15th and December 18th, plan to take notes and host an agenda in a Google doc or other location as the wiki will not provide edit access.
  3. After the migration, you will want to update any bookmarked wiki pages.

How will the new wiki site be different?
Cloud-hosted Confluence has a new editor and a new user homepage. Beginning in 2021, the wiki will become easier to navigate as information moves into separate spaces and better templates are available for agendas, notes, and documentation.
