- need for meditated deposit, such as ETDs
- proof of concept application that allows you to create actions, roles and steps for the submission – generalized workflow engine
- grew out of CurateND work, how best to create a system to handle arbitrary workflows
- database tables, state machine, guards
- will be a standalone gem and not part of Curate
