   1. multiple option only affects attribute reader() and not the writer() and doesn't not apply any controls on the number of terms in an attribute
   2. attributes could be lost in a read/write cycle because read only returns the first value
   3. multiple: false option should be retained so sorting in solr works?
   4. David will try deprecating the multiple option in a PR
