● Design walkthrough of wireframes highlights

○ Adding with spotlight are pages with orange marker on the wireframe

○ Constructed with widgets for various flexibility

○ Has browse page for exhibit items to give context to search result set

○ Slideshow view for search result

○ Item view is core blacklight but has extended metadata for curator to add additional context for within the exhibit

○ Adding items point to the objects in repository to include them in exhibit

● Questions

○ Assumptions of underlying structure of objects in fedora? Answer pulling all metadata out of solr index

○ Two types of content used in an exhibit:

■ The content that's in your solr index

■ Or stuff that you add images and text may be a management issue if there are objects in other systems not linked to solr

○ Talk about process

■ Notre Dame atrium project talked with them first

■ Interviews with librarians/stakeholders already making exhibits and what they were looking for

○ Is there support for materials not held in repository?

■ Yes, how you get to the information that's not in repository is still not well defined

■ Maybe have non repository content widget

■ Possible to easily create more widgets based on institution needs "sir Trevor"(?)

○ After curators create important intellectual content about those items, is there a way to get it back into the repository?

■ Not yet, but known use case

■ Pages content live in a database associated with spotlight

○ Disconnect between curated text not showing up in a search because its not indexed in solr

○ Any thought for crowd sourcing development/ user contributed content?

■ Right now as a potential for version two looking for use cases

■ One example crowd sourcing metadata creation

■ Creating exhibits expressly for getting user create metadata

○ Exhibits are not a digital object? How are you going to archive this?

■ Solution is probably going to be developed outside spotlight not in the scope for now

○ Can you create the exhibit as a digital object that points to the objects that are a part of it?

■ A second phase is needed! More conversation is necessary

○ Will be developed in blacklight 5

○ Will be a kind of working group/advisory of people that will be checking in and making sure problems are being solved looking for interested participants

○ Concerns about variety of types of exhibits/ways to highlight material for various projects see graph in exhibits concepts PDF

● Action items

○ Step one: build it

○ Review design documents and see if it would support your use case. If there are things not supported, send email giving use case and what you would like to add

○ Timeline/keeping up to date

○ Watch project on github

○ First exhibit built by spring

○ Internal demos will happen as Google hangouts, may save them and upload to YouTube

○ If interested in advisory group, let Stu from Stanford know before 10am tomorrow

○ Wants to continue talking about the "culdesac" issue of getting curated information back into the repository somehow
