Facilitator/Notetaker: @Annamarie Klose

Attendees:

  • @Annamarie Klose, Ohio State University

  • @Nora Zimmerman , Lafayette College

  • @Amanda Hurford , PALNI

  • Katherine Van Arnsdale, Adventist Digital Library

Agenda:

  • Final review of draft documentation

    • Anna Goslen, UNC, provided her institution’s OAI feed link. Change approved.

  • Outstanding issues:

    • Did we resolve the issue about whether the oai_hyku prefix is standard in Hyku or only particular Hyku repositories? Amanda reached out to one of their developers today. She confirmed that the feed is custom to their instance. SoftServ will share how to customize feed in their training. It’s definitely not a Hyku option - it’s specific to PALNI. In addition, PALNI had a thumbnail link added to their custom OAI feed.

    • Standardize text related to OAI and OAI-PMH

    • ListSets command

  • Additions

    • Add importing with Bulkrax to use cases

    • In the future, it might be helpful to share guidance about specific aggregators (e.g. DPLA hubs, discovery layers). PALNI has had several discussions with its DPLA hub about its OAI feed but has not been harvested yet. Lafayette recently got their OAI feed to display with EBSCO Discovery Service. OAI despite being an old standard is pretty versatile. Uses: migration, harvest, and discovery.

  • Wiki

    • After this meeting, Anna will add the documentation and share link with the group.

  • Lightning Talk slides for Samvera Connect 2023 next week

    • Anna will provide audience feedback to the group after the presentation.

    • Amanda will be there to chime in.

Next meeting: None. WG will complete its charge!
