2019-02-27 Hyrax Pals Meeting notes

• last month, mostly on React and Structural Metadata. Avalon 6 custom XML.
• IIIF Auth on Avalon 6, with IIIF AV plug-in. Bring IIIF Auth to non-image API resources.
• Ongoing work with Digerati on Timeliner tool (React). Integrate with Avalon 6.
• AMI - turnkey solution for Avalon
• Transcoding - P Dinh re-established the Elastic transcoder (active encode) - brings transcoding to Hyrax through Active encode
• work on making dashboard for active encode jobs - underpinning tech is there

IIIF auth, timeliner, etc... will be ported to Avalon 7. Generation of IIIF manifest for the timeliner will also be there.

Where there are opportunities to push code to Hyrax - want to be looking out for those opportunities.

Meet up at LDCX in March.

Expect a release this week for bug fixes in 2.x and 3.0. Stalled on 3.0 release because no test coordinator. SVT and Tom touchbase call tomorrow.

Valkyrie sprint at Penn State - very successful. Upcoming Valkyrie sprints will allow more Valkyrie code into Hyrax. Between now and connect, will be able to run Hyrax without Active Fedora.

During first Hyrax/ Valkyrie sprint for next month - we can start looking at using Valkyrie instead of Active Fedora (maybe, if we want). As we work on 7, opportunity to change some client code.
