Samvera Research Data Working Group Charter

Draft proposal, until agreed on and joined by members from at least three Samvera Partners.
Scope & Objectives
The Samvera Research Data Working Group will spend the next three months to conduct an environmental scan of Research Data Repositories that utilize Samvera applications, determine why stakeholders choose the application, what they like/don't like about the application, what existing features are helpful for research data repositories, what features are lacking, determine future use cases, and determine needs of the community regarding research data.
Working group members will determine the frequency of scheduling after the initial meeting.
Deliverables & Timeframe
The working group should aim to have the following deliverables by the end of Samvera Connect 2022 Oct 24, 2022 and plan to present their findings at Connect 2022
Gather environmental information regarding who is using Samvera software for their Research Data Repository platform(s)
Document community interest in Research Data repository features for Samvera software
Document the current state of the Samvera software for Research Repositories, does it support Globus? ORCID? etc.
Capture existing and possible future use cases
