2b.  Chris Colvard discovered a problem in ActiveFedora when using short IDs < 8 character.  He discoverd this problem when working with the direct_to nodes while working with collection extensions.  We decided to put a guard in place to throw an exception and refuse to create an object.  Chris will create the issue and Tom Johnson will look at it when he gets some free cycles.

2c.  Four instiutions approve adding this as a configurable option (flipper) to the hyrax code base.  This lead to conversations around the best way to implement site and secret keys.  DCE will share some of their documentation about these type of Plugins.  Thomas will check the Plug-Ins working group documentation to see if they left any notes.
