UVa Requirements and Use Cases
UVa's repository will house published and non-published material managed via the hydra-curate-based UVa web application.
Non-Published Material
This material can be deleted by certain authorized persons through the web application (the system).
However, it is not irreversibly deleted from Fedora. This is our 'soft delete', very much like ND's definition on HYDRASIR-121.
Use Case
As a student with ETD advances through the graduation process, there may be material that the department or committee want removed from the ETD package that has been submitted to the system. In that case a registrar will be able to 'soft delete' that material.
Published Material
This material cannot be deleted by anyone (not any type of user) through the web application (the system).
However, certain content, metadata, and attachments to the material can be revised by certain authorized persons.
Use Case
The content of a published ETD may need updates or corrections. It is desired that those changes to content be made by a registrar or other authorized person without contacting a librarian to do so.
