Faculty Collaboration
We want to enable faculty to share the ownership of works and folders without bogging them down in the library approach to admin sets and organizations.
Instead we will follow a model that may feel more familiar, that is, the sharing of works and folders to individuals or groups. Consider how this works in google docs or dropbox
Features of faculty sharing:
- Faculty can grant the shared ownership rights to Works or Folders (and all files contained within a work) by:
- sharing those works/folders to individual people by entering their name
- sharing works to groups by entering the group name
- any person or group that a work or collection can be shared to is CRUD access to that group of individual
- any works within a folder will default inherit the shared ownership of the parent folder
- items within folders DO NOT inherit access control settings (as public, private, etc)
