JIRA (Duraspace)

Project found at https://jira.duraspace.org/secure/RapidBoard.jspa?rapidView=16

Please note that this is not a sample project, but the project board that we will utilize if we go this route.Ā

Notes:

  • Project is visible to everyone.
  • Duraspace was very responsive, set up board withing 6 hours of the request
  • Account Management: There is no limit to number of members. Once a user has a Duraspace account, they can be added to the project easily. Currently Andrea is the only one that can add users to different roles.
  • The sys admin group at Duraspace has configured several projects with github and says that it isn't a problem but does require extra configuration that would need to be coordinated.
  • The board contains a number of fields that may not be utilized and make for a busy interface, may be able to configure that but would need to change Board Owner.Ā
  • Extra columns can be added to the Work Board for a QA step - unclear if that would be an option to help with the Deliver/Acceptance portion.Ā
  • The UI wireframing interface looks cool, but have not tried to do anything with it.Ā Ā
  • Each task and story have a clear identifier which is helpful with large scrums.Ā
  • Board is basically set up (without the integration with github) and could start being used straightaway

Notes:

  • Project can be set to be visible to everyone.Ā  Account manager can add and invite people to project as needed.Ā
  • As Jeremy pointed out, integrates with Github.
  • Account Management: Talked with Andrew Wood who uses this for Fedora.Ā  No limit on users.Ā  There may be limit on storage space - attachments and such.
  • Stories cannot be broke down into smaller tasks.Ā  In order to follow scrum, we would need to utilize the Epics as stories and Stories would become tasks.Ā  Would be difficult to groom backlog because epics cannot be pulled into Backlog and Icebox.Ā
  • Identifiers for stories and tasks are not easily visible
  • In order to request opensource project, it takes 5 to 7 days to fulfill the request.Ā  Request put in on 12/5 so unclear if it will be ready before 12/12.
