Notes

  • Samvera Office Hours / Q&A Sessions (@Chris Colvard)

    • Chris helping folks new to community, answering technical questions

    • Onboarding working group that is starting and there used to be newcomers office hours

    • Heather reaching out to onboarding WG members to schedule meetings and get started

    • newcomers time used to be 30 minutes after weekly tech call

    • Dive into Hydra and other documentation is no longer up-to-date so those self-starters aren’t available

    • DCE used to run workshops and that was one way materials were updated (Dive into Hydra)

    • Dev Congress doc updates for READMEs on Github have improved steps for installing but not the fuller docs on how to customize and work with Hyrax and other Samvera tech

    • Samvera KB is more updated than any Dive into docs but it is also not completely current

    • Onboarding WG should help to develop strategy for updating docs and providing docs (possibly HMWG sprint each cycle dedicated to updating documentation and tutorials)

    • Chris put out call to tech list for newcomers/office hours attempt

  • Hyrax release prep steps (@Juliet Hardesty)

    • Nurax-dev not auto-deploying from hyrax main at this point - Lynette has PR to merge that will start this

    • Also don’t think there are any analytics connected to Nurax-dev (but can still check that current deploy is not breaking anything with analytics not running)

    • all issues seem to be addressed and tested but check Nurax-dev one more time before releasing

    • tamsin and Julie will meet up to do release (hopefully this week!)

      • set up draft release notes for review - Julie

  • next tech call (skipping next week due to Dev Congress, so Feb 2)

    • Thomas - note-taker

    • Chris - moderator
