  • Hyrax Maintenance Working Group update - tamsin johnson and Julie Hardesty

    • Hyrax 3.0.0 and Hyrax 3.0.1 released!

    • Upgrade process from 2.x is pretty modest so that is good news

    • Cycle seems to be working well, 3 sprints in and 3 more sprints, issues being cleared

    • Want to merge frequently, QA frequently, and release frequently

      • Bug fixes and UI changes especially good to get out there

      • Deployment improvements also happening

      • Developer-facing changes also coming out rapidly

    • Semantic versioning is the goal so backwards-incompatible changes will result in 4.0

  • Topics and Projects

    • Hyrax Roadmap

      • Julie is updating and working on clean up here

      • Need community help to make sure that various features that are in progress are targeted and to remove or update items in progress

      • Will likely have new features coming in depending on grants and other partner related work

      • Maintenance Working Group can facilitate code reclamation, but we depend on code contributors for these features.

      • Analytics work is in progress now - some work has already been completed

      • Blacklight update? Does that go on roadmap?

      • Rails 6 support should be on roadmap and Blacklight 7 upgrade is part of that

        • Both should be on roadmap as separate things

        • Need to define timeline, Rails 7 is not that far off in the future

        • Might be branch hanging out that starts on this work

      • Ruby/Rails side work for Blacklight at Dev Congress then take that forward with Maintenance WG in next cycle?

        • Requires QA work on frontend UI (public and dashboard)

      • Community ask to just do the Rails side might also work

    • Samvera Virtual Connect, April 20-21

      • Will be a good chance to catch up with things happening in the community

    • Dev Congress, May 3-6

      • Add a topic proposal around Blacklight 7 upgrade

    • Hyku news

      • Hyku 3.1 in testing; update on how Hyku is deployed to use Hyrax Helm charts

      • Tamsin helping with this work

      • Hyku 3.1 is using Hyrax 3.0; yml based Valkyrie models is exciting

      • Several new projects - new university in India using Hyku among other new projects; Advancing Hyku still moving along, DOI work has been contributed back

      • Tamsin working on M3 (configurable metadata) support via UCSB work

        • Allinson Flex GUI needs to be integrated with this work
