Notes
- Portland Common Data Model
- Questions: What will the impact of this be? Is there any current work ongoing to map PCDM multi-file objects to the IIIF manifest?
- There was some discussion about how tied to PCDM our discussions/recommendations should be. Many institutions may not be migrating to PCDM anytime soon, if at all.
- Documenting current modeling practices
Eben will set up a page where people can contribute examples of how they currently structure sequenced multi-file objects in Fedora and/or Solr to facilitate page-turner implementation. George indicated he can also add examples once this page has been created.
- Mapping Page Turner Solutions
There hasn't been much work on updating the Mapping Page Turner Solutions page with information about the capabilities of various readers. Eben and George will try to budget some time to work on this.
- Table of Contents
Questions: Where does table-of-contents-type information that is not strictly related to the page image sequence (chapter titles, for example) get stored within the Hydra stack? How should this type of metadata be represented so that IIIF manifests can be generated on-the-fly at the time of a request?
- Hands-on experience with IIIF
It was agreed that more experience with creating IIIF manifests is needed within this group.
- Next call
The next call will be on April 9, 2015 at 11:30 EDT.
