Updates:

  • Hyrax Maintenance Working Group Sprint Recap

    • 1 sprint on Fedora work, resolved/identified causes of problems with pair-tree feature (thanks, Randall Floyd!); resolved other failing specs in Sirenia

    • other issues seem to be due to same core problem, Daniel working on wrapping up a solution to that next week (sprint is not technically about Fedora but he’s doing it anyway!)

    • concerns noted: speed of collection type list on admin side (takes minutes to load, not sure why); running single ruby spec in Sirenia to create a few objects, viewing log of requests in Fedora container and it was really big but shouldn’t be as big because only a few objects - not clearing Fedora correctly according to specs, also happening in Koppie but wasn’t noticed; seem to have a query to determine ordered membership (find inverse relationship query that is part of Valkyrie) and it is not performative; need to look into this more

      • might need to change how we do membership (longer term issue/conversation than Valkyrie)

      • Brad Watson testing with dev project at Emory (60 works with multiple filesets and when clicking on collection types it times out)

      • Valkyrie adaptors work in specs but this is getting into testing adaptors IRL

    • Got through feature test spreadsheet for Hyrax/Fedora6

    • Still need Valkyrie release since pair-tree fix is still in branch - it will happen in next HMWG sprint!

  • Performance Testing

    • Emory updates

      • trying to improve server response time with Sidekiq, seeing a lot of LDP/HTTP errors

      • trying non-pair-tree ingest and performance test - seeing issues possibly from Hurricane Helene! Gotta wait on the weather but will get back to it

        • check listing of collection types in this instance to see if it is still not performant?

        • Brad - all servers are non-pair-tree right now (even the one with 60 works); collection type list issue happening regardless of pair-tree

    • IU waiting to comparison test on Fedora 6 for stable.nurax to have Fedora 6 instance in place

What work remains?

Performance Testing

Notes

 Action items

  •  Check on if more work needs to be done to cover all the predicates from hyrax so that they get persisted to Fedora with a real URI, particularly FITS ones.
