Welcome

Updates:

  • General updates

  • Hyrax Release

    • Close to release and Nurax-hosted Sirenia instance, some remaining AWS issues to resolve

    • Emory close to this style of deployment, tweaking FITS and S3- EC2, RDS, S3, Terraform-based approach, complex deployment scripts.

      • They have a draft architecture diagram with pending updates

    • Nurax is using ECS rather than EC2

    • Estimate day’s worth of work if no major unanticipated “gotchas”

    • Caveats in upcoming release notes will be largely concerning Wings/ActiveFedora/Fedora 4

  • Status of Nurax Testing instance for Performance Work?

  • Migration updates (Emily Porter - Emory)

    • Rapidly approaching 1M resources in F6

    • ~14K works, 111K filesets

    • 40% complete migration

    • F6 performing really well- “snappy”

    • Starting work on automated large-scale fixity checking

      • Already running F4 S3 checks on binaries in flat structure

      • Using OCFL, questions about best practices, will reach out to Fedora team

      • No mass fixity check in Fedora, just individual, but might be able to use OCFL Java client

      • On-demand fixity checking within Hyrax

      • Will be submitting a presentation to Samvera Virtual Connect

What work remains?

  • Deploy a Nurax instance with Hyrax on Fedora 6
