5.1 release TODOs

Accessibility work?
tesseract training data bundled with hyrax
currently trained on mid-tier data (for mostly pdfs)
Is this the best choice to balance size of training data and usage needs?
Rob still thinks so…maybe
hyku is trained on more complex higher-tier data (for handwritten manuscripts)
OCR will only go so far and can’t derive a reliable transcript
is tesseract still the best tool for this now?
Work for Valkyrie migrations
Done in
main_before_rails_72
Some hyku implementations are using that branch for migration performance improvements
Queuing indexer to avoid so many solr indexing calls for works with many children
Stash into redis and have background job do the actual indexing
Hyrax github CI build trigger
Need to also run builds for PRs to
-stable
branches?
Issue with deploying via capistrano and honeybadger announcement tool (@Bradley Watson )
Rob suggests reaching out on reddit or somewhere else
SMIG questions:
Has flexible metadata been integrated into hyku?
Under active development now in a branch
Last issue hopefully just resolved
Going into testing for hyku 6.2
Great! Will this be going into hyrax?
There is a plan to do this but don’t know when it will get done. Waiting on Rob’s availability
Ordered metadata in valkyrie
Postgres - yes
by happy accident
No helpful UI for reordering them
Wings - no
Fedora - no
order_already
gem exists which might help with this
