Meeting Process
Notes
Samvera Maintenance Issues
James shared a table showing maintenance work plan. Looking for commitment for next year. Looking to identify blocking issues in the release process or core components. All are welcome to modify this table to add issues. Contact James or others in the Roadmaps Alignment group.
Questions: What do we have on the calendar for the community that could be used to rally around these issues?
Samvera Connect Dev Congress for sometime in Nov could be used to address some issues. Samvera Connect itself is Oct 18-22
There is a maintenance pledge drive that started last week to get resources for addressing maintenance issues, including Core Component maintenance issues. See wiki page for pledges as they come in. Commitments are broken up into three timeframes for next year.
Convening the Core Component Maintenance Group (Phase 5)
Group has been inactive. Want to update the Phase 4 page as a starting point for Phase 5. Plan to put out a call for interest to convene Phase 5. Highest priority being driven by blockers. (See maintenance issue table from Note 1.) Convening requires at least 3 institutions or may need to change this requirement or reconvene as interest group. There is a doodle poll in the Charter for Phase 5 to determine start date.
Julie would like to see a Core Component Interest Group since the work is ongoing, but not necessarily consistent. As issues need to be addressed, this can serve as a pool of devs who might be able to help move specific issues forward. James indicated this sounds like a good idea. Thanks to James for keeping the focus on Core Maintenance going.
Issues from Slack
Accessibility question that seems to be resolved.
Big data question, but not sure
State of nurax-pg MVP
PRs are getting reviewed quickly. The primary area for the MVP is Collections and AdminSets.
Deploy may go up at DCE. Julie is still working on where it will go for near term testing effort.
PRs
Analytics PR is still on hold
A fond farewell to @Jeremy Friesen as he moves on to other work. We will miss you.
A big thanks to @tamsin johnson for his work as Tech Lead for Hyrax.
Next week…
