Ask:  Respond to Survey: Prioritize Potential Topics for Second Charter of Best Practices for Authoritative Data Working Group

Participation target date:  March 8th

What we need:  The Best Practices for Authoritative Data Working Group has completed its initial charge. The group was composed of catalogers who use authoritative data, application developers who provide access to authoritative data, and authoritative data providers who want to facilitate the use of their data. In this first charter, we identified common use cases and then refined them into specific user stories from the perspective of catalogers, developers, and providers. We invited participation by the broader PCC community to help prioritize the user stories. From our work, we produced two documents:

Who we need:  Anyone who can help prioritize next topics.

To participate:   Please complete this very short survey to help prioritize potential next topics for the group: Prioritize Potential Topics for Second Charter of Best Practices for Authoritative Data Working Group

Ask:  Join the 2021 Samvera Virtual Dev Congress Planning Committee

Participation target date:  March 5th

What we need:  The committee will select dates and help shape the event, building on lessons from the November 2020 Developer Congress

Who we need:  Anyone with an interest in helping organize this virtual Congress

To participate:   Add your name: Join the Spring 2021 Developer Congress Planning Committee

For questions: email heather@samvera.org

Ask:  Add or update your Samvera Repository listing for 2021

What we need:  A reminder from the Repository Management Interest Group: Do you have a Samvera application in production? Or are you currently working on one? The community keeps a list of these projects as a way to share information within the community and with potential adopters about live and planned implementations. These lists are an especially helpful tool to learn about locally developed features.

Who we need:  Anyone who works for an institution that has a Samvera repository in production or in progress is welcome to add to or update these lists.

To participate:  Check and/or add your entry on the wiki at Samvera Implementations: In-production and Samvera Implementations: In-development

For more information/questions:  email heather@samvera.org

Ask:  Share one particularly fun/interesting/notable holding from your Samvera repository

What we need:  Would you take a few minutes to complete this brief form to share one particularly fun/interesting/notable holding in your repository so we can feature it on the map? The Samvera Marketing Working Group plans to create an online map/tour of Samvera-based repositories. The repository tour will appear on the Samvera website and will be a communication tool to provide an overview of what's possible with Samvera-based repositories.

Who we need:  Anyone who works for an institution that has a Samvera repository is welcome to share a holding.

To participate:  Complete this brief form to share your notable holding.

For more information/questions:  Message the # marketing_wg Slack channel with any questions.

Ask:  Update the Roadmaps Alignment document with the features your institution plans to add or would like to add to your Samvera installation(s)

Participation target date:  Ongoing; please add add or update your 2021 interest by the end of January 2021 for inclusion in Roadmaps Alignment planning

What we need:  The Community needs to understand which features Partners are planning to work on or would like to work on. This information will be used to help prioritize features of interest to many institutions, with a goal of reducing redundancies and moving widely needed features into core code for Hyrax, Avalon, and Hyku.

Who we need:   Anyone from a Partner institution who can speak to the needs and plans for new features at your institution.

To participate:  Add to the Roadmaps Alignment

For questions:  Message the #roadmaps-alignment-group Slack channel
