Title: Chief Technology Strategist & Associate CIO
Statement of Purpose:
I am honored to be nominated to Steering and believe my experience with both Library and IT domain would be a great contribution to the team. In my current role as the Chief Technology Strategist and Associate CIO at UC Santa Barbara Library, I provide leadership in vision and administrative oversight for a broad range of Library technology planning, operations, infrastructure and strategic functions to meet research, instructional, and administrative goals of UCSB constituents.
I have been an active member of the Samvera community representing UC Santa Barbara partner effort since 2012 as well as an active participant in other digital Library communities such as Fedora, Code4Lib, LDCX, Duraspace, and DLF. I was a member of the Open Repositories 2018 Program Committee, and am an active advocate of Open Source Solutions.
As one of the UC campuses actively involved in the Samvara community, I feel I would bring our perspective of our multi-institution approach and challenges for developing collaborative product. It is important to know how the tools and products we develop as a community are leveraged.
