Preview or Viewer

• modal punted for 7.1

• a lot of conversation around the viewer inside of a work

  • problematic for nested works

• can be browser specific

• hard to give options for preview versus download

• would like to give people direct access as much as possible

• preview works well when dealing with one file

• what happens when you have 10 files?

• some not satisfied with size of page preview. can see this as an issue for some

• slideshow is cool but a lot of work and some issues

  • can't reorder

  • designate representative image as a work

  • thumbnail and download

• problematic for other devices like mobile

• preview is good for "common" file formats

• would like to keep it closer to Sufia 6 w/thumbnail

• provide more flexibility for later

  • don't go big with thumb only to go back to small

• various files in a work. how do you get all of those things into a viewer?

• keep it simple and straight

• consistent throughout

• how do you access the preview for the other items in a work?

  • use the arrows and move across?

• why would we not have a thumbnail for a work with multi items?

• why force a file to be the representative item when it is a child?

• letting user pick representative image for a work is out-of-scope

• keep every work page consistent

• thumb consistent

• regardless of how many works keep it consistent

• what options are configurable

• is it flexible to really customize

• need to be mindful of it out-of-the-box
