Collection Admin
- aligns more with archivist and curator personas
- roles in general for personas aren't being fully explored because we are just using the personas as a lens to review and develop wireframes
- research assistant
- might have some of their own research
- most likely heavily involved with other people's research
- proxy function
- grad student in a lab
- upload and leave for another person
Configuration
- ability to turn on and off certain features
- different workflows and configuration
- opt in and out
- sitewide config
Workflow
- take advantage of PCDM
- identifying where there are changes between Sufia 6 and Sufia 7
- perhaps do a walkthrough of PCDM and note what is new and not new
- 2 workflows - metadata first (work) and upload first (file)
- new workflows developed by UI Working Group are super important
- what's the progression through performing actions?
- wanting the simplest workflow
- simple, intuitive for both workflows
- align each step of the working path
- metadata forms are gigantic
- give users choice of direction (work versus file)
- current interface and workflow is very complex, not good for users, packed
- kind of overwhelming
- personas and point-of-view do address choices
- easy, one batch upload without metadata
- works are created for individual files behind the scenes, doesn't necessarily have to be exposed to user
- shouldn't have to fill out a form to upload files
General Thoughts
- some frustration with the process
- ultimate goals and deliverables of the group
- relevance of the recommendations to actual work performed
