Agenda Items

  • Review items

    1. CfPs

    2. T-shirt design – open until Aug 15th, but no one has submitted. Will ask at Board meeting, see if we can have a budget for a designer. Or – we do the logo this year

    3. Keynote speaker ideas

      1. Look for speakers form other webinars or meetings attended who could be an option if we can’t find a scholar from a Partner; send to the committee any that you find!

        1. From a Partner! Carolyn is reaching out. Northwestern scholar who values library partnership and access to born digital, https://communication.northwestern.edu/faculty/aymar-jean-christian/

        2. Shea Swauger https://investinopen.org/community/ioi-webinar-accountability-oversight/ – he could be an excellent speaker on data ethics, surveillance

        3. Dean Tomiko Brown-Nagin and Harvard College Dean Rakesh Khurana

        4. Ibram X Kendi Boston University

        5. Can ask OASIS Open also

  • Community-building activities

    1. Low attendance was frustrating – could have sign-ups ahead of time for anything that is ‘game-like'

    2. Conversation groups were well-attended; could have more of those. Doesn’t require as much set-up or preplanning

    3. Heather will to hosts from last year to get their feedback on what went well, what to do again – same feedback, suggested fewer sessions and not using much committee time for planning. Afternoon community building had worst attendance.

  • Task checklist: Task checklist, Connect 2021

    • Can we each review the event guide and notes from last year, and complete a task checklist? Can then begin assigning tasks
