Getting to St. Louis

St. Louis is served by Lambert International Airport (STL). The airport is approximately 20 minutes from the university. 

St. Louis can also be reached by Amtrak (Gateway Station).

By car, the city is on Interstates 44, 55, 64, and 70.

Getting Around

Public Transit: MetroLink - St Louis's commuter rail system has the Blue Line and the Red Line. The Red Line covers Lambert International Airport. WashU's two stops (Skinker Station and University City-Big Bend) and stations in nearby Clayton are on the Blue Line. Riders can switch lines at the Forest Park-DeBaliviere Station. Both lines serve the Central West End and downtown. A 2-hour pass from the airport is $4. Otherwise, a 2-hour pass is $3 (as of May 2019). Check the website for current fares.

Taxi: A few local companies include St. Louis County Cab/Yellow Taxi and Laclede Cab

Car Share: Lyft or Uber

Washington University is on the edge of the City of St. Louis and St. Louis County. The closest county cities include Clayton, Richmond Heights, Maplewood, and Brentwood.
