Rosalyn Metz
Emory University
Director, Library Technology and Digital Strategies

Statement of Purpose: I am the Director of Library Technology and Digital Strategies at Emory University in Atlanta. Here I lead a diverse cross-functional team that provides technology support for the libraries. I am a member of Fedora Leaders and Fedora Steering, active in the Samvera community, a member of the OCFL Editorial Board, and I have been active on a variety of DPN committees.

In addition to my work within the repository community, I actively seek to connect people to professional development opportunities.  I am a member of the Open Repositories 2018 Program Committee, I actively advocate for supporting the Code4Lib community, and I sit on the planning committee for AvramCamp, an event dedicated to increasing women’s participation in open technology and culture.  Recently, I was named as one of the UCLA Library Senior Fellows.

As a former member of the Samvera Governance Working Group, I hope to carry forward some of the issues and concerns the group identified in the course of their work.  If elected, I look forward to working with the other members of Steering to further flesh out the governance recommendations and ultimately create a sustainable governance model for the community.
