Getting to Santa Barbara

By Air

Santa Barbara Municipal Airport (SBA): The Santa Barbara Municipal Airport (SBA) is located approximately 12-miles from the conference hotel. It offers daily departures and multiple non-stop flights to and from major hubs, including Dallas, Denver, Las Vegas, Los Angeles, Oakland, Phoenix, Portland, Sacramento, Salt Lake City, San Francisco, and Seattle. For attendees staying at the conference hotel, free airport transportation is available from 5 AM to 9 PM by calling the hotel directly upon arrival at 805-564-4333. 

Los Angeles International Airport (LAX): Santa Barbara Airbus runs daily shuttles throughout the day from LAX to Santa Barbara. (The Santa Barbara drop-off location is less than 0.5 miles from the conference hotel). The trip is approximately 2-hours, depending on the time of day and traffic.

By Train

Santa Barbara Amtrak Station (SBA): The Santa Barbara Amtrak Station (SBA) is located approximately 1-mile from the conference hotel. It offers multiple daily departures on the Pacific Surfliner (San Luis Obispo – Los Angeles – San Diego) and the Coast Starlight (Seattle – Portland – Sacramento – Los Angeles). Attendees traveling by train can bring their bikes on board. 

By Car

Parking: The conference hotel offers parking for attendees arriving via car. There is a self-parking fee of $6/hour for attendees not staying at the conference hotel (maximum $25/day). For attendees staying at the conference hotel (and confirmed in the room block), there is a discounted parking rate of $15/day for self-parking and $35/day for valet. 

Lodging

Conference Hotel

A block of rooms has been reserved Monday-Thursday nights at the Hilton Santa Barbara Beachfront Resort, with a discounted rate of $219 / night. The hotel will secure the block until September 26, 2020. If your budget allows it, we respectfully request that you book your hotel room in the block reserved for attendees at the conference hotel. This helps ensure that the host institution can meet its contractual obligations with the venue for the event. Attendees staying at the conference hotel receive a number of benefits, including free transportation to/from the Santa Barbara Airport and reduced parking and resort fees.
