Meeting Notes

  1. IIIF Auth

    1. Max is working on project that want serverless-iiif and some files be private (in a Hyku/knapsack/iiif-print context)

      1. Trying some simple cookie approach

      2. might go with nginx proxy to do auth without iiif auth

    2. Daniel working on auth v1 implementation in an old Hyrax with UV and cantalope image server

      1. UV only supports auth v1 (spec: https://iiif.io/api/auth/1.0/implementation/ )

      2. Auth controller endpoint backed by time-limited auth token DB model

      3. Cantalope delegate code that does the authorization by calling back to rails app

      4. Add auth services block to IIIF manifest

    3. Avalon and Ramp working on IIIF auth v2

      1. Avalon should be creating correct manifests for v2 auth

      2. Ramp is implementing consuming and going through the auth flow

    4. Are there any production examples of IIIF auth?

  2. Profiles

    1. LaRita using compound metadata (nested metadata) being used to create a linkable profile for a person/contributor

    2. Not the same as Hyrax’s user profile because doesn’t have to be backed by real user

    3. Possible functionality of claiming a profile via orcid

    4. Is this useful for a Hyku/Hyrax more generally?

    5. Nick has had requests for this usually for connecting to a faculty information system like Symplectic Elements

    6. LaRita will demo this sometime

  3. Nurax server debugging

    1. How can someone get access to the nurax server for easier debugging?

    2. Heather will give Rob access

    5. Nurax dev file uploads is broken. Should this hold up release?

      2. Ticket exists for this issue already

      3. Will move forward with release
