  • Hyrax 2.0.0 Update (Van Tuyl)

    • Nearing a point where blocking issues are almost finished

    • Right now there are issues with browse-everything (not blocking)

    • Accessibility Issues

    • Few rounds of beta and an RC1

    • More formalized testing was undertaken than those in the past for Sufia and Hyrax

    • Ideally, release before Samvera Connect 2017

    • Maher: Like to lobby for a RC2

      • 38 commits to touch 101 files

      • Feels that this is significant

    • Cole: Mike Tribone has been creating a11y issues

      • Not all are blocking

    • Van Tuyl

      • Very early in 2.x issues, want to address a backlog of issues related to accessibility

      • Address these within a separate release

      • Within testing process, more coherently work a11y testing into the process

        • Cover these in a comprehensible way before the releases

    • Cole: 8 are blockers for a11y

    • Van Tuyl: 2 identified are low-hanging fruit

    • Rayle: Blanco is working on 1673

      • Permission templates don’t get cleaned when an Admin Set is deleted

      • If a group is admin, it won’t allow you to delete various permissions

      • Would hope this would make it into 2.0

    • Van Tuyl: Want to give people a chance to look at these accessibility issues

      • Will consult with Mike Giarlo

  • Promoting hydra-role-management to release 1.0

    • Maher: Bess couldn’t make the call

    • HRM is currently in samvera-labs

      • Would like to get this promoted to a 1.0 release and to samvera

      • Sadler has a PR in to get it to 1.0

      • Requests feedback for this (PR 29?)

    • Opens the call for discussion

    • Cole: It does appear to be in samvera

    • Maher: Clarifies that this concerns promoting the Gem to 1.0 release

      • Need to test with Rails 5.1

    • Rayle: There was recent work which fixed Rails 5.0/5.1 problem

      • Just not properly released (discussed this with Sadler)
