Attendees:

Agenda/Minutes:
- Follow up on disk image user stories: https://docs.google.com/document/d/18njxk2brPxgqpIWyBojbXvEasBWui5vGbb1f3ESAmpg/edit#heading=h.n69gvljoq571.
- Matienzo offered some comments after the call, but I'd welcome having feedback from others working with disk images.
- Matthew added some comments
- Is the central question: what do we want the repository to do and what do we want other tools?
- How satisfied are we with forensics tools?
- What's better – a monolithic tool for end-to-end processing, or a variety of tools? What's more realistic? Where should the hand-offs be?
- Possible user story: better define the technical metadata we want for disk images
- What next: getting archivists comfortable with the open source community? What does that mean?
- Might be hard when you consider that a lot of the barriers we as archivists have are institutional in nature.
- Inquiry into frameworks, as opposed to nuts and bolts solutions – finding something more universal, like U-M is doing?
- Would be nice to see more archivists blogging about this kind of stuff.
- Bentley is doing the blog to promote dialogue – could Hydra Archivists do something similar to generate dialogue around issues?
- Other modes?
- Add examples of disk image technical metadata to Wiki page here: Disk Images
- Discuss possible meet-up at SAA:
- Who's attending?
- What should we accomplish with 1-2 hours of F2F time?
- How should our dialogue occur, how do we promote involvement?
- What, generally, would we want repositories to do for us?
-
-
