Samvera Tech Call 2026-01-21

Samvera Tech Call 2026-01-21

Meeting Logistics:

Agenda (meeting notes below)

  • I have 2 prs that need review. One fixes the file set edit form to support flexible metadata or any properties defined on the file set. Old version only does title no matter what is on the object. The other just makes the riiif classes their own files. I’m 90% sure this eliminates the superclass mismatch error we see in dev all the time. It doesn’t change the functionality at all and if you use the old generators will still work fine (but you’ll get the mismatch bug) (@Rob Kaufman )

  • Getting Flexible Metadata working on Nurax for QA @Randall Floyd

    • Trial and error to get a working config/profile due to the introduction of a more extensive profile validator since my workshop last October

Notes

  • First Item

    • Rob Kaufman was unavailable to join the call to discuss the two PRs requiring review

    • Should anyone be available, pull request reviews are very welcome

  • Second Item

    • Not being able to fully integrate flexible metadata for Nurax on QA has been blocking releases

    • Hyrax namespacing for FileSet models has introduced difficult bugs to identify and fully resolve

      • Required trial-and-error based approach

      • This should lead to a working configuration which can be committed to the GitHub repository

      • Adding the configuration to the repository should improve the test suite coverage

  • Third Item

    • Notch8 is finishing a major sprint

    • Ready to move Hyku into production environment

    • Notch8 will look to provide future details

  • Avalon Team

    • browse-everything fork is advancing major work for supporting Google Drive

      • Also adding in Sharepoint provider

    • Supporting the cascading of roles downwards within the model hierarchy for Avalon
