  • Chris and I spent some time experimenting with github's role system and thinking how to configure the various Samvera orgs.

  • Our thinking is the Owner organization role will only be held by a select group consisting of the Community Manager, Board Chair, and POs/TLs of the main Samvera projects (Hyku, Hyrax, Avalon). This is the only predefined role able to add members to the organization.

  • Other members will be assigned to the Contributors team, which will have the "All-repository write" organization role. Inactive members will be moved to the Emerita team, which will have no additional roles assigned. Per-repository roles can still be assigned as needed.

  • Plan: Update during Samvera Connect

    • Implementation following Samvera Connect

• (James) Enquire with Heather about the Updated Samvera Connect 2025 Schedule

  • Usually there is a Working Group section

    • There is a section for Avalon and Hyku Updates

    • Currently, there is not a section for WG Updates
