Welcome

  • Volunteer notetaker: @Nicholas Mark Homenda

Updates:

  • Community Performance Testing Update?

    • Community Performance Testing - f6.nurax

      • Two Hyrax performance problems

        • 1. cache issues

          • @Daniel Pierce actively working on this, requires removing F5 tests from Valkyrie

          • F5 EOL is now.

          • Oxford is looking into Hyrax 5 on top of F4.6

          • Hyrax 5 has dual modes:

            • F4

            • Valkyrie mode: F6 and PostGres

          • Valkyrie gem’s Fedora adapter supports:

            • F4, but seems like a dead end

            • F5, CI tests have been failing

        • 2. launched 2 jobs over every member child

          • @Randall Floyd merged an update to streamline this, cut visibility change to filesets time in half (~10 mins compared to ~20)

        • @Nicholas Mark Homenda will add new testing numbers, but will wait to invite more community testing until additional performance problem issue corrected.

    • Phase 2 status (Bulkrax status)?

      • Bulkrax doesn’t currently support Rails 7.2. Dassie can support this, fix in the works for other versions. 90% done.

  • Any further migration updates?

    • @Juliet Hardesty will compose update on performance testing

    • @Arran Griffith will compose group update, and will merge

  • Bulkrax planning session needed once we get it up and running, and Emory folks can help

    • CSV importer is quirky

    • XML importer is disabled (METS and OAI)

    • Oxford has a JATS importer, it’s also quirky

What work remains?

  • Frigg adapter testing

Wrap Up

Next meeting:

  • Time to switch out facilitators? (Arran taking it through Fedora work then Julie taking over for testing/wrapping up)

    • We will use the same Zoom

  • Not scheduled - continue with monthly?

    • Perhaps every 2nd month?

    • Slack/email updates if there are updates in between

    • 2 months from now is Samvera Connect

    • Communication list pared down to active participation

    • Should we send out a poll looking for a time to include west coast folks?

      • No explicit requests to join, bringing a summary to tech call should suffice

    • Next meeting will be September 26, 2025
