Hyrax Valkyrization meeting outcomes & next steps
1. https://samvera.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/samvera/pages/2151481349 notes from the meeting
2. Outcome: community led sprint effort in later summer--end July-August.
3. In meantime: SoftServ volunteered to lead some sprints, need to raise community funding. Pledge PR will be coming out. ACTION: Board will discuss how much funding to contribute to this. Also how to pass through funds, need to make decisions. Most likely Samvera invoices institutions, PALNI/PALCI can also act as a pass through.
  1. 3 milestones: 1) hyrax, backed by postgres; 2) migrate from fedora4 to Hyrax-valk-postgres; 3) migrate to Hyrax -valk-fedora 6 from Hyrax-af-fedora4. ACTION: get milestones on wiki for feedback
  2. where does hyku fit into this? perhaps in the 1.5 milestone? ACTION: need clarity about this question.
    1. Is Milestone 1.5 bringing this into Hyku? In able to use http://repo.samvera.org as a test case.
  3. Jon Dunn asks for an opportunity to give feedback on Milestone definitions.
4. ACTION: Make sure we have a presentation about the next steps in Virtual Connect. And let’s set our sights on the success stories of community migrations in Fall Connect.
