Cloud Deployment Working Group
Scope & Objectives
Cloud service vendors are looking to develop reference architectures for open source software, often without the participation of the community. The Samvera Community wants to ensure that we offer cloud deployment that is not locked into a specific vendor of cloud services.
This working group will work in conjunction with cloud service vendors and community implementers to ensure that cloud deployment documentation and reference architectures are available to the Community, and adhere to the Samvera values of flexible and transparent implementation architectures.
Please note that there is an existing reference cloud native architecture in terms of the Cloud Native Computing Foundation’s Helm: https://github.com/samvera/hyrax/tree/main/chart/hyrax. both Hyrax and Hyku, along with all their infrastructure dependencies, can be configured and deployed from this artifact.
Deliverables & Timeframe
The group meets the 4th Wednesday of every month at 12pm PT/3pm ET
This group will convene in February 2023 with a goal to present outcomes at Samvera Connect in Fall 2023.
