• Advanced Structure Editor (XML editor) in Avalon

  • The XML structure editor is very old code that needs to be retired

  • Is anyone using this tool? Could we retire it at this point in favor of the graphical structure editor?

  • Jason finds the XML editor helpful

    • for a specific style, or guidelines for presenting information (i.e. with tracks) it’s easier

    • when something was wrong it was easier to troubleshoot by looking at the text

• Changes to user management in Avalon 8.2

  • Proposed changes sound positive to attendees

  • Permissions can be managed at the Unit level with the coming changes

• Looking at changing presentation in the date facet for 8.2

  • UMD notes that in their investigation there is extra attention needed for UX here—just dropping a library in for the date value selector doesn’t work well

  • date ranges are problematic in general

  • No design chosen yet for date facet; Avalon team will be investigating

  • Jon will share ideas from the Avalon team with this group at the next meeting
