Discussions have taken place on the Steering Group, with our Connect 2020 hosts at UC Santa Barbara and with our planned 2021 hosts the University of Notre Dame. In view of the great uncertainty about how and when the COVID-19 pandemic will resolve, and how long it will be before travel gets back to some semblance of normality, the reluctant decision has been made to cancel the Samvera Connect 2020 conference.
We plan to replace the face-to-face conference with some form of on-line event and, over the next few weeks, will consult about the precise form this should take. At the same time, we will continue discussions with UC Santa Barbara and Notre Dame to determine how best to plan for physical conferences in 2021 and 2022: we will let you know the outcome of these in due course.
