Will Cowan has written an Omeka plugin to simplify the process of embedding Avalon videos in an Omeka collections site. The attached zip file, Avalon Video.zip, contains instruction on configuration and use. Embedding is done by pasting Avalon section permalinks into an Omeka field. No configuration of Avalon is necessary–the plugin is installed in Omeka.
Caveats:
- This hasn't been tested with or optimized for audio yet, just video
- Currently, as with regular Avalon embeds, only a single file (section) can be embedded rather than an entire multi-file item. In a future Avalon release we expect to support multi-section items in a single player embed.
