We are pleased to open the call for presentation proposals for Samvera Virtual Connect 2023!

Samvera Virtual Connect provides the Samvera Community with a free, informal opportunity to share the work occurring in our institutions and via our collaborative efforts. Virtual Connect occurs entirely online via Zoom webinar to a live audience across the globe, with presentations recorded for asynchronous viewing.
We’re looking for submissions from across the entire Samvera landscape, including both local development and community work. Consider the following themes for ideas about submissions that would be welcomed, but also feel free to submit other types of proposals.
“New to Samvera” experiences: If you or your institution started adopting Samvera technologies recently, how has the journey been so far?
Challenges: We can all from each other’s failures, pilot projects, performance tuning, and integration challenges
Adaptation: Have you implemented or are you working on implementing something adapted from another organization in the community?
Integration: How are you integrating the digital repository into your wider institutional community? How have you integrated Samvera technology with other software and services?
Equity, Diversity, Inclusion, or Anti-Racist initiatives and challenges in digital repositories
Ways we work together: Ideas about processes, staffing, and other strategies that help teams work together better
Lightning talks to share your hot takes: “Hear me out, I think we should try this and here’s why…”
This year’s Virtual Connect will have two days of programming, during which we’ll be coordinating presentations into thematic blocks based on topic, audience, and time.

Samvera Virtual Connect is an opportunity for Samvera Community participants to gather online to learn about initiatives taking place across interest groups, working groups, local and collaborative development projects, and other efforts. This spring virtual event is open to anyone who would like to catch up on Community developments, make new connections, and learn more about the Samvera Community.
When will Samvera Virtual Connect 2023 take place?
Samvera Virtual Connect 2023 will take place over two days on May 2-3, 2023. Each day's event will be broadcast via Zoom.
How can I attend Samvera Virtual Connect 2023?
Registration is free and will open in April 2023.
Who can participate in Samvera Virtual Connect 2023?
Any institution or individual working with or interested in Samvera is invited to attend or to present! There is no charge for participation.
How will Samvera Virtual Connect be structured?
Samvera Virtual Connect 2023 will take place over two days from 11 AM - 2:30 PM EDT. The program will include a mix of 20 minute presentations, 10 minute lightning talks, and updates from Working and Interest Groups.
I can't make it. Will Samvera Virtual Connect be recorded for later viewing?
Yes, recordings of both days of Samvera Virtual Connect 2023 will be made available after the event.
