Status of creating nurax-pg for testing Hyrax configured with Postgres Valkyrie metadata adapter (Lynette)
An effort to start the process of creating an application, nurax-pg, configured for postgres – no Fedora configured at all. Haven’t tested adding objects yet. Hoping to do that before testing.
Idea is to take this app and start testing against the nurax-pg to find where we still need development work. This work will also make it very easy to then test either backends like Fedora 6.
Discussing this with DCE, trying to figure out if we can do this in 2021
Helm chart supports not including Fedora
ACTION: Lynette will post code repo to Samvera Labs. Hoping we can stand it up via DCE when they are ready.
Discussion of impact of new Docker licensing (may want to hold over to next week when more is known) (Lynette)
Discussion in dev channel on Samvera Slack. Impact is so far unclear. Princeton is asking for answers on this
Need to get clarity on what licensing is changing, currently very confusing if this is applying to the desktop app or other ways of using Docker.
A Docker desktop replacement could emerge quickly. There needs to be an update to the Hyrax documentation once there is more clarity around this.
Notetaker for next week: tamsin johnson
