Beta Test
After a year of active software development, Hyku, the Hyrax-based repository application developed in the Hydra-in-a-Box project, is ready for beta testing! We are soliciting the Hydra community’s assistance to improve Hyku and to help define and prioritize our work for the remainder of the time on the IMLS grant supporting this project. The Beta testing program test is an open opportunity to deploy the Hyku repository locally or in the cloud, to “kick the tires”, and to give the Hydra-in-a-Box team feedback on Hyku & its deployment options. We In our project, we sought to develop a Hydra-based repository that is easy to install, easy to maintain, and easy to configure; your feedback is crucial for helping us gauge how much progress we’ve made on these goals.

...
- Register your interest in participating in the Beta program test
- Install Hyku via one of three methods:
- Use the Hyku application (user documentation coming soon)
- Contact the Hyku technical team along the way – on Slack, GitHub, or in virtual office hours – with questions, ideas, bug reports, and overall feedback.
Who can participate?
The Beta Program Test is open to anyone who is interested in testing the deployment of the Hyku application and its functionality as a digital repository. You do not need to be an active Hydra developer or user to get involved and provide feedback. Organizations experienced with Hydra applications are strongly encouraged to participate, too.
Why participate?
We can think of at least four reasons to participate in the Beta Programtest:
It's fun to try out stuff for the first time
It's fun exciting to be among the first users of a new product
You can help steer the direction of Hyku, because your feedback will be considered future product releases
- It's a community good: you For the good of the community: your input can help make the product better for us all!
