Write a one page letter that describes how the nominee has made a demonstrable impact on the Samvera Community and email to Heather Greer Klein, Community Manager, heather@samvera.org. The letter will be shared only with the Community Manager and members of the Award Selection Committee. Nominations are due September 16th, 2024.
The Committee will review the nominations, select the recipient, and announce the award. A plaque and US $200 will be presented to the award recipient.

2024: Daniel Pierce
The recipient of the 2024 Julie Allinson Award is Daniel Pierce from Indiana University.
Daniel was nominated by Jim Halliday from Indiana University. In his nomination letter, Jim highlighted that in his two years serving as Hyrax Technical Lead, "Daniel has been an essential force for maintaining Hyrax and pushing it into the future. Over the last year he has made tremendous strides towards new initiatives, such as moving towards compatibility with Fedora 6. He’s also been very invested in improving the core code itself. I have seen him responding very quickly to various problems in the code base, and he has worked closely with many folks in the community to resolve bugs and issues. Daniel also is a good-natured and positive person. He has respect for others in the community, and he is quite liked in the community for his friendly spirit and willingness to work with everyone."
2023: Julie Hardesty
The recipient of the 2023 Julie Allinson Award is Julie Hardesty from Indiana University. Julie was jointly nominated by Jon Dunn (Indiana University), Jessica Hilt (University of California, San Diego), and Rebekah Kati (University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill). In their nomination letter, they nominated Julie for the award to celebrate her "exceptional technical leadership, invaluable mentorship, and relentless dedication to championing the vital cause of equity, diversity, and inclusion within our community."
